Emile Parisien, sax // Yaron Herrmann, piano // Linda May Han Oh, bass // Prabhu Edouard, perc, tabla
A superlative seems appropriate for once > Emile Parisien is the most influential soprano saxophonist of our time. And he has earned this reputation again and again. On thousands of concerts and more than 20 albums ranging from the duo with accordionist Vincent Peirani to his trans-Atlantic project LOUISE, accompanied by exceptional media reactions and countless international awards. And what Emile Parisien brings to the stage in terms of virtuosity, intellect, humour, complexity, and interplay is simply breath-taking. Jazz without borders, full of surprises and of captivating intensity.
We are very happy to announce Emile Parisien’s newest project FLOATING. Born 2025 at the Théâtre de la Cité in Paris. Émile Parisien extends an open invitation to emerging figures on the US jazz scene. The stage is set alight on both sides of the Atlantic. An epic performance that transitions into electro-accentuated jazz.
Pianist Yaron Herman, a master improviser who wanders with his nose to the wind on the slopes of rock, electro and classical music, is naturally attracted by this promise of alchemy. A disciple of Shankar Ghosh, Prabhu Edouard has accompanied the great names in Indian music. He is also one of the most eclectic of tabla players, providing rich flavours that have already seduced Jordi Savall, Jeff Mills and Magic Malik. The band will be compleated by Grammy-winning bass player Linda May Han Oh, "one of the most dynamic rising stars in jazz today" (Wall Street Journal).
