Jahari Stampley, Piano
With his solo project, Jahari Stampley presents the piano as a complete universe of sound — intimate, expansive, deeply rhythmic and full of emotional clarity. As a pianist, composer, producer and educator, Stampley belongs to a new generation of artists redefining the language of modern jazz with imagination, virtuosity and a deeply personal voice.
Winner of the 2023 Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz International Piano Competition, recipient of the 2023 Luminarts Fellowship, and a 2023 Chicago Symphony Orchestra honoree, Stampley has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting young pianists of his generation. His music moves freely across jazz, gospel, classical color, hip-hop and R&B, creating a solo language that is both sophisticated and immediate.
In the solo setting, Stampley reveals the full depth of his artistry. His performances balance powerful improvisation with lyrical sensitivity, blending original compositions with spontaneous musical storytelling. Drawing from works such as Still Listening and What A Time, he creates concerts that feel personal yet expansive — full of movement, tenderness, groove and discovery.
Having already performed solo concerts across Germany, Switzerland and the United States, Jahari Stampley’s solo project offers audiences a direct encounter with an artist of rare presence and vision: a modern pianist whose sound is technically brilliant, spiritually grounded and unmistakably his own.
